After Rudolf obtained his Bachelor of Accounting and Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Stellenbosch, he commenced his career with Rademeyer Wesson Chartered Accountants (SA) as a trainee accountant in 2005. Having been exposed to various types of clients he found that his passion was within the finance industry.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) Rudolf moved to the Cayman Islands to further his career in finance. He joined CIBC Bank and Trust Company (Cayman) Limited in 2008 as a mutual fund account manager.

Rudolf spent 7 years servicing specialized hedge funds as back office administrator. His challenging portfolio of clients included master/feeder structures, multiple currency and segregated portfolio companies. He managed a team of accountants responsible for the preparation of monthly net asset value calculations , investor reporting, management of statutory audits and compilation of financial statement (IFRS and US GAAP) amongst other tasks. During his time with CIBC He gained in depth knowledge of the industry - specifically in terms of  Cayman domiciled funds.

Rudolf thus brings over 10 years of relevant accounting experience to Southern Cross, seven of which was gained in the Cayman Islands within the the hedge fund industry. 

Rudolf received his Chartered Accountant (South Africa) designation in 2008. He obtained his Bachelor of Accounting and Post Graduate Diploma through the University of Stellenbosch South Africa. Rudolf obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State in 2014 and plans on writing the Certified Financial Planning exam in 2015.

Rudolf is passionate about creating solutions for complex problems. He considers himself an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying a variety of sports including golf, kitesurfing, mountain biking and surfing. He is a family man who draws strength and inspiration from his wife and son and enjoys the company of his larger family.
